G37s rev. Limit
Hi i have few ?'s for you guys one is is there a rev limit on the 09 g37s coupe? I was reving today and it wont go past about 5000, and is there a way to make it higher or closer to redline? And also i have the stillen gen3 intakes and was wondering why dont i hear them sucking in air like my friends g35 with a short ram? Is it becuase there so much farther down then his?

I assume you were revving in neutral...
It's a dummy rev limiter that's set on the car to 5k RPM if you're revving in neutral. It's not good to rev the engine to high RPMs with no load on it, i.e. don't rev high in neutral, bad for car.
If you actually drive the car, it'll go all the way to 7700 or so.
BTW, word of advice, NEVER approach redline slowly. You'll scorch intake valves.
Idk about the intakes though, hope someone else will chime in on that.

i believe he means dont leave your foot on the gas for a long time. i was down a little when i found out my bro's g35 can rev to 7k and i can only do 5k

Long story short, if you want to hear your engine at redline, do it the "proper" way and just rip through gears at your nearest on ramp

It's a stupid thing to do period .... Buy a Scion or Civic if you want to be a High schooler.
