lol @ this thread ... "DUDE"
OP ... Gen 3 is good along with good gains but you will need some "serious" (subjective) trimming. Takeda on the other hand, direct fit, same design, almost similar gains. Both are approx 450. Cheaper option = R2C, although its a Short Ram so wont have gains anywhere even close to a long tube like Stillen and Takeda. Injen is another option if you are not paranoid about hydro locking your engine as it goes way down and sits right behind your brake ducts. Decision is yours and nothing is "BEST" ... everyone likes and/or is content with something or the other.
Good luck

I went with the Gen3 and I love it. True on the trimming but I didn't mine after all said and done. I may try R2C for this midrange fun factor I read everyone talk about and their filters are made by one of the best. But I do a lot of highway driving and the Gen3 serves me well.

I have the Gen 3s and I like them except when it comes for maintenance I have to remove the front bumper again. I installed AEM short ram intake on my Mazda at the same time and the Gen 3s are dirtier by far based on the location. The filter in the engine bay has a more noticeable sound than Gen 3 but when I merge onto the highway it screams and you have a nice smile on your face. It has a unique sounds and other drivers give you that look :-)

I would really suggest you do a search and stop asking questions which has been answered almost 4-5 years ago. This is the last time am gonna post here and offer some advice.

for the Gen 3 your trimming near where the factory air ducts head to the OEM air boxes. You need to trim to have enough room for the pipe to fit through. Word of caution though you have to be pretty careful with clearance since the driver side pipe runs right next to the factory AC lines.

Its really not that bad. Drop your bumper for the install it will save you a lot of headache. As for maintenance you can just take the radiator cover off to remove the filters and should be ok

^Yeah if you haven't done this type of work before might be worth it to just pay and have it done right.
