Whats could this noise be? MT

Hey guys and gals. If some of ya have seen my othe thread i posted how my local dealer took care of my problems. I got a new clutch and a new tranny installed. Some of the weirdness in the car itself went away. But one noise yet hasnt. It happens when im in idle (most times) and does it all the time when im taking off at low speeds (only happens in 1st gear) here is a video posted multiple links lol

Are you referring to the binding like noise?

I'm not sure what that is, other than it's somehow related to the clutch linkage. Maybe the shaft from the pedal that goes into the master needs lubricating. Is it rubbery sounding or metallic? Do you feel it in the pedal too?

It can be felt and noise souds like marbles. Dealer before told me its normal bexause the moving parts in the clutch? I highly doubt it came from factory like that. Cant imagine how many people would think twice if they heard/felt the noise before buying the car

I didn't hear a marble noise in the video. It is however a very normal sound. Something to do with the flywheel/throwout bearing. Some are louder than others. It's faint in my G, but the camaro was very loud and noticeable - from day 1. Some 75K miles later (at 85K), the trans & clutch (in the camaro) still functioned well with no syncro issues - except when cold and ambient temps in the 30's(F) or below. Had to double clutch to smooth shifts until the trans warmed up. The marble noise didn't get a whole lot louder over the years either. Most mt's are just not quite gear boxes.

i see, what the dealer was telling me was, the moving parts is what's causing the noise, i.e when clutch is in, teeth open up and when it's released the teeth are closed. it made some sense but this is a first to me and after numerous transmission swaps i was getting nervous ima buy an extended warranty to cover anything else. i also have a haunted window... lol

sometimes when i roll the windows up using the auto function it rolls up then rolls back down half way lol. if i dont use the auto feature then its ok.

^^IOW, when the clutch pedal is in, the pressure plate fingers (teeth??) disengage the trans from the engine, marble noise goes away or is reduced. When the pedal is up or clutch is engaged, the trans is spinning with the engine. Although you may be in neutral, the rest of the trans gears are still coupled to the engine and spinning at engine rpm.

For your windows, I think it just needs a reset. There's a how to somewhere around here.
