Of course it's spinning not dragging, but that's the best description can think of. The weight savings is mostly in the shaft itself, although losing the bearing helps some too. The shaft is slightly larger in diameter but lighter weigh material and it seems to have thinner walled tubing than the OEM. Performance wise it's great. The noise isn't loud and I don't hear it when cruising at constant speed, but it is there. Is the performance gain worth the cost? IMO, yes.
Betty,

Can you take pics of the joints at the tranny, and at the diff, whithout the car being jacked up?
Om curious to see the driveline angle of a one piece VS a two piece OEM.

Just curious, my damper/bushing has gone bad around my driveshaft and with the part not being sold Separately, the dealer wants 775 plus 210 labor which of course if probably install myself. Question is, does the GTM or Z1 driveshaft come with that center bushing/damper? If yes I'm going to order this also. Thanks!

A one piece driveshaft doesn't have the center bushing because its one piece instead of two and doesn't need it for support.

TVPS I don't know when I'll have a chance to photograph it but ill try to soon. The angle is not far from the OEM 2 pc one and certainly within the normal range for the U joints. Not at any extreme angle. As I mentioned before I have the Z1 drive shaft but the GTM one will obviously be the same length and use the same U joints so I can't think of any significant differences in fit.

Why would you do this install on a Z? My Z has a CF drive shaft stock.

Z1 is not looking to making the aluminum driveshaft anytime soon.

What is GB?

I talk to a lot of tunners. That wont matter. All that does is free up HP. I would like to know the before and after dyno on the HR motors. The 1st Gen show a gain of 15HP (or i should say freed up).

Is anyone going to do a before and after dyno on the G37?

And for the Z1, i did call them in November and they say it's a project that would be a year out. I don't want to wait that long. I'll just wait for my phone call back.

I'm planning on bringing my car up to GTM for an Uprev tune. I was planning on buying the drive shaft at the same time. I could probably have them do a before and after dyno. I need to see if they can do it on a Saturday.

Crazy! I was going to get an Uprev tune as well (Although with Specialty Z, not GTM) and now I was gonna put on this driveshaft too before the tune. Let me know how the driveshaft ends up feeling if you get it done before me, I'm curious.
