revving to redline in neutral

revving to redline in neutral

dont know if this is normal but if the car is rolling and i put it in neutral and rev it the car hesitates than revs straight to 7500 rpm.

but in park it only revs to about 4k rpms

i have a 7at btw

That was spam nevermind it.

As for revving your engine in neutral, I believe there's a rev limiter there to protect your enigne. It's not the best thing to do when there's no load on the engine anyways as you'll probably end up spinning a bearing.

ill make a video its weird there should be a rev limiter but there isnt

You should not be doing this anyway. There is a rev limiter so when your car is in neutral you don't hurt it. Reving it up with no load=early engine failure! This is disabled while rolling (otherwise you could get to the limiter while in gear either) but still very bad to do to your car! Do not go make a video just learn about engines and why you shouldn't be doing this.

ok i wont do it anymore i didnt know it could damage the engine. but with my old car even there was a rev limiter in neutral even when rolling it would cut off at 4500rpm dont know why this cars different. im just wondering if something is wrong.
