Oil temp gauge

Anyone DIY their own oil temp gauge? Is it hard to wire and what not?

The easiest way is to buy a oil cooler with a pre tapped sensor bung on the sandwich adapter. The other is to get a oil pan spacer with pre tapped bung and the hardest way is to drill your lower oil pan.

Can't you just use a sandwhich adapter plate without the oil cooler and place it between the oil filter and wire up the gauge from there?

kRAM, that's what I saw today when I just googled DIY oil temp gauge lol. Problem is, I don't know **** about electronics, so while the sensor might be the easiest part to install, I'd somehow completely screw up installing the gauge.

I might do the whole thing with the oil cooler though, just because I've been contemplating getting an oil cooler as it is.

Oh and another completely noob question: anyone know if there are any wireless gauges that "receive" information from the sensor?

I think I'm just more confused to how the relay of information actually works.

You don't want to know your oil temp, it'll just ruin your driving experience. Lol
