In addition to the 1->2 shift clanking noise, does anyone ever get grinding if they do it too slowly?

Yup. It sounds like grinding but its not because the grinding will sound higher pitch. But i know exactly what you mean.

*sigh of relief* That noise is horrid! What is causing the noise?
Is there anything we can do to improve this? Adjust or lube a linkage?
