What grade of gas are you using? And is it top tier gas?

Supposedly the lower octane gas can cause knocking and pinging. Haven't noticed this "ticking" in mine though.

If your oil is good, I'd bring it into the stealership. Let them figure it out.

Good luck.

i had the exact same thing with mine(08 5at), took it to dealer, they reprogrammed the ECU and that cured it. they did mention that to "permanently" get rid of the sound, you have to always use the nissan ester oil, but ive been about 3 months since the reflash and its been fine without the ester.

a TSB is out on this issue if i remember correctly (something about ticking noise from engine bank), and when i mentioned it they didn't charge me at all.

also this may help too! https://www.myg37.com/forums/general...ester-oil.html

Sounds like a combination of loud injectors and valvetrain noise. My HR sounds the same.

Anyone care to help a fellow g37er and post a video of their engine? it seems that when its recorded it might make it sound worse than it is. Or anyone care to meet up in long island just so I could compare? Thanks

Change over to ester oil. It will cure your problem.

Is this sound happened only after driving for a while? I noticed mine only after driving, not when cold start. Dealer tech said it was load injector, and changed to ester oil. I don't think it helps.
