Non-FI Engine Build

What are the options at hand for doing a engine build without adding FI?

400-450 HP range is what I'd like to see for now.

I'd like to be educated on the cost and specifics of what goes into something like this. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks!

So much for finding anything out.

I come here looking for info by asking a question and this is what I get?

Every "Engine Build" thread relates to FI.

I'm interested in doing this without that.

If anyone would like to come up with a serious response, I'm open to learn.
(Pretty sure that's what this forum was about at some point)

Ok i may have started out as a douche...my bad lol...but the reality is..bolt-ons for our cars suck...an intake, headers, cat-back exhaust, and a tune..ive seen people do it to try and achieve 400+ hp range and have regretted every penny saying they should of just went FI...but thats just my view and opinion but you can try...AND i swear there was a thread about this along time ago same question and everything...

Can't believe I made the effort but here's one thread asking the same question.

From: Framingham Ma,
He may have been asking about the 4.2 stroker kit from GTM, But I think it may cost more to do that then just go FI,??

^ Yes it will. Im guessing at least 20k for the 4.2 stroker build without FI.

Yes modifying the engine itself (not bolt-ons)

Would the stroke kit be the only option?

Emillion, can you explain why you dont wanna go with FI while you have the budget for build engine?? is it personal opinion or you had a bad experience with FI before??

Building an engine will be slight cheaper or maybe same price as installing FI to you car...
Im a huge fan of NA build for my self but lets not forget that this engine is only 3.7 not Corvette 7.0 V8 lol..

You have to call GTM tell them your budget and your plan and they will sort it out for you in no time!..

As with all naturally aspirated builds, the $ per horsepower is 4x more expensive than forced induction. To give you an idea of how much your horsepower goal will cost you, here is a link to our GTM 500HP Naturally Aspirated Competition Engine: GTM Motorsports COMPETITION ENGINES 500 HP COMPETITION NATURALLY ASPIRATED WET SUMP SYSTEM 4.5L STROKER ENGINE Just remember that is the cost of the engine only and doesn't include supporting mods to take advantage of what the engine can do.

Since your power goal is a little less than that, it won't cost quite as much. That said, you will still be spending a lot more than the cost of a supercharger which still gives throttle response and power delivery very similar to a naturally aspirated build.

If you are truly interested in going with a naturally aspirated build and have the budget to support such a desire, please feel free to send us an e-mail at info@gtmpower.com Be sure to let us know what your budget is and what kind of driving you will be doing with the car.

This is exactly the info I was looking for!

This is something I'd like to do in the near future, I'm gathering as much info about my options as possible.

Maintenance is another large factor I am keeping in mind. I'm not looking at spending the "savings" I get from FI just for upkeep.

Thanks Sam!
