7AT - *sigh* - Time for the dealer?

Another 7AT complaint thread.

1. For a few months, my transmission (I think) has been making weird chirping sounds when coming to stops and shifting quickly from R to D and vice-versa at a complete stop. Thought it might be the torque converter, had some quickielube place check the fluid and all seemed well as far as lubrication and cooling. The transmission seems to be performing normally, otherwise...

2. Except "normally" has almost always been rough shifts constantly, jerky stops in manual mode, and sometimes even in auto.

3. Most bizarre issue today, not sure what happened exactly. I was cruising with some CTS-V I had stumbled upon and to be honest, we were hauling pretty fast down this 4 lane rural highway this evening. I was tailing the guy and he decided to take some twisties, so I natually followed him. As soon as I jammed downshifted into the turn and then jammed on the power on the exit, my transmission felt like it just quit. There was no power to the engine. Further pressing of the gas pedal would rev the engine to about 3,000 RPM, and then cut off and refuse to accelerate. I ended up having to pull off the road and restart my car, which resolved the issue. I though perhaps this may have been a transmission temperature issue, but I've driven the car hard before and never experienced anything like this.

Time for the dealer?

As far as you not being able to reve beyond 3000rpm, your car went into "safety mode". The question is, why? We're you driving hard and racing? If not, there could be something wrong with your vehicles cooling system.
Your transmission is another issue. Take it back to the dealer and see if they havea new program for the transmission.

Sounds like you went into "limp" mode, although it won't stop till the oil temps cool down. Take it to the dealership and explain what happened. Most likey they will tell the car is not designed to be driven this way.

Not racing, but definitely moving fast. Keep in mind it was quite cool outside, and I've driven the car much harder during the summer and never had this issue. I'll have to check my coolant levels later today.

The limp mode I experienced went away as soon as I restarted the car. Suddenly the power was back to normal.

I think it may be time to invest in oil and transmission coolers if I'm going to be driving hard.
