Mobil 1 Synthetic - 4500 mile change - VERY DIRTY

2010 G37 with 21k miles.
Switched to M1 around 5000miles. AT 15k miles i put in a Wix air filter and changed the oil (done by dealer).

At approx 20k miles (4500 miles of oil usage) the dealer told me that the oil was very black and dirty.

Wondering if the Wix air filters had anything to do the dirty oil report ......

What air filters do you guys use ?

Thanks

For the gazillionth time, you can tell absolutely nothing about used motor oil based strictly by its color. Oil being black doesn't mean it's "dirty". Whatever that even means. The ONLY way to tell anything about your used oil is to have lab analysis performed. Your dealer service guy is either uninformed or full of crap.

Wix oil and air filters are great. Keep using them. I've used them sucessfully for years. I change the air filter about every 10K in the driving conditions I encounter.

Your 4500 mile oil is black??....wow...that guy is just dumb lol. Ive never seen any oil with thousands of miles on it come out any other color than black. Your service man is an idiot.

LOL! I'm sorry, but I just found that hilarious. It goes in like honey and comes out like Guinness... that's just the way it is.

I don't know about "evar"

Unless the oil is coming out in clumps I wouldn't be worried. Wix filters are perfectly fine.
