Physically possible to hit transmission first?

Was happening to go over a declining driveway and I some how managed to feel my shifter actually be pushed UP. I heard a small scrape when the front end took a small dive (following the path of the driveway) so I'm rather certain that something hit. The shifter being actually being pushed up slightly has me concerned though. I don't care much if it hits my exhaust pipes/resonators. Does anyone know if it's possible (going over an even BUMP) to actually hit the transmission? I tried looking for pictures, but I can't seem to tell (pillars on either side look to be EVEN with transmission level. My car's not even that low, which really frustrates me...!!! Thanks all

You probably scraped against the crossmember securing the transmission. Nothing to worry about.

That's not the crossmember i was talking about. Take a look at this picture:

You can see the black steel crossmember holding up the transmission at the very top of the picture.
