Transmission fluid change needed?

Does my '09 G37X (automatic trans) with 30,000 miles need to have the transmission fluid changed? The service manual mentions something about the 7-speed transmission not needing this but isn't very clear. Will get my 30k service done at my mechanic, not the dealer, so not sure what to tell him. Thanks.

I only do what is recommended in the owner's manual, for my type of driving, which is normal and does not fall under the severe usage schedule.
A large percentage of owner's of all brand of cars are duped into following the severe maintenance program, by the money hungry dealerships.
If you read your owner's manual the key word in determining how often you should preform maintenance is "PRIMARILY".
Most car drivers will occasionally drive their cars under one or more of the items considered as severe driving, but if they don't PRIMARILY drive under a severe driving condition there maintenance should fall under the normal driving conditions.
Having maintenance done twice as often as necessary will not extend the life of your vehicle. All it does is add a lot of profit to the dealership.
Plus anytime someone works on your vehicle there is a chance they will inadvertently do some damage, so by having your car worked on twice as often as necessary you are doubling the risk of something being damaged.

Infiniti doesn't recommend any transmission fluid flush or replacements on the 7AT within the first 120,000 miles.

unless:
1. Replace (not just inspect) oil/fluid if towing a trailer, using a camper or
a car-top carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads
.
