my old civic is interference and the timing belt snapped and I just replaced it with no problems.
My old talon bent 8 out of 16 valves. Some looked fine until further inspection. Just because they look fine doesn't mean they're not bent.

A shredded belt means something else. Check for a frozen water pump pulley, frozen or broken idler pulley, frozen AC compressor etc.
Maybe a dead cat!!
This. A serpentine belt shredding on a two year old car should mean something else other than normal wear and tear caused it. Unless it has high miles.

It looks a little on the worn side.
If you drove alot in snow/salt conditions, maybe it was dry rotted.
Change mine every other season, just in case.

So your saying by the belt being dry and me shifting hard it ripped? So by me just replacing it should be fine.

If it was really dry + a really hard shift, yea that would do it.
Cant say if your all good, never snaped a serpentine.
It looks like it slipped off & got torn.
Most of the time the belt would snap in half, least whenever ive seen one break.
One of my boys had a g35 coupes that the serpantine pulley was loose after dealer replaced his engine.
He got to it before it snapped.
Lucky for hint it was loose on, start, up.
