Oh, and you'll need snow or gravel.

Find an ice lake with 1 foot or more of ice thickness and go crazy. Saves your tires for driving too.

All your going to get is a quick chirp from the rear before the fronts grab and stop the fun.

Make a wide left hand turn from a stop when its wet with the VDC off and it will burn out/drift all over the place

You could drift it, just go like 50ish and unbalance the car and hope you go sideways

You can't really have any "burnout" fun with AWD in the G because it wasn't designed with performance in mind. I had a Jaguar X-Type Sport 5MT with a 40/60 FR torque split. It would chirp all wheels and the computer would immediately shut down the power to keep the transfer case from grenading itself, which it eventually did anyway after 35k miles, 70k miles, and again at 100k.

In the wet, it would turn all fours with no problem, but the t/case would overheat and you could smell the oil burning.

If you wanted to do 4 wheel burnouts, you should have bought a WRX, EVO, or a high-po Audi. The G37's AWD is designed for inclement weather, like most cars with AWD. Personally, I'd never buy another AWD car again unless it was an S5 or a GT-R. There's no point in having AWD in a sport sedan/coupe unless it's designed with PERFORMANCE in mind.

This is why I have a RWD 6MT G37S. Whenever I get the itch, I can pop the clutch and light up the rears all I want and no "inclement weather" AWD to steal the fun.

I have an AWD. Whoever implied on page 1 that the G37 AWD is front drive unless the fronts are slipping and then the rears kick in ... no way. It's RWD until you lose traction. f you tromp it off the line, it's exactly what JB606 says, you usually get a quick chirp (or squeal) from the rears and then the fronts kick in. I think this is the best AWD system on the market, stays completly out of the way unless you are slipping. Very little drag or friction, very little effect on gas mileage. No, it does not do smoky burnouts, but it drives like a real wheel drive car and that is all I can ask for.

I just wish that they had the real sport suspension and big brakes on the AWD.

Make your AWD a RWD car for burnouts... DIY by borderline a lot of discussion on there about possible consequences and what not, read through and be th judge an do it at your own risk if you like.. Personally i think thats pretty impressive.

By pulling a fuse behind the glove box.

I do that every time if get a loaner.

G37 x has some mini 17s perfect for burning rubber.

No fuse behind the glove box, you'll need to modify a wire of the AWD module.
No issue yet with this mod and you won't have any.
before the mod, I was only able to loose traction with my X on a heavy turn on wet pavment.

For the people who said why bother, why do you have a car with over 300 hp? Cause it is fun.
