Agree. But DS uses more gas because it downshifts more. I think Infiniti would be smart enough to make D as economic as possible while still keeping *some* sport characteristics.
I'd say that's what they were doing by making it less aggressive on downshifts and brake-throttle-brake-throttle situations. They'll never please everyone with two mode settings.

Driving in DS all the time in city traffic and cruising on highway has made the DS mode less aggressive. The 7AT does learn and adapt to how the car is driven. Unfortunately, it doesn't help at all. The gas brake gas lag is in the DS mode now also. It doesn't downshift aggressively when the brake pedal is pushed.
