Questions about my new G37

I just bought a 2011 G37x. I have two quick questions regarding it. I push the gas pedal after it completely stops for green traffic light, and I notice that the engine speed must be around 3000 RPM to have a complete running, and if I push the gas pedal slightly (eg, 1000-1500 RPM), this car moves slowly. Is it normal? I have a honda accord, and it usually starts moving fast at 1500 RPM.

My second question is after stopping engine for about two hours, the hood is still a little bit hot. My accord gets cool in just about half hour.

Thanks!

Harsh SRG esp for a brand new member.

I'll say welcome. I could not understand the first question. May want to try to rephrase it. In regards to the 2nd question yeah that is normal, the engine does get really hot and will stay warm longer. That is normal.

My first question is my G37 needs a high engine speed (3000 RPM) to move forward after a complete stop. Is it normal?

The G37 has a 7-speed transmission, and therefore it can afford to have a very short ratio first gear. In other words, compared with your honda accord, in the 1st gear, the G37's engine speed (rpm) is very high relative to car's speed. The advantage is that generally, you get more torque from the engine at higher rpm, and you accelerate faster when your engine is at a high rpm.

get a 6mt moves when clutch is engaged roughly 900~1.2k

nonetheless it shouldn't take 3k rpm to have your car moving from a dead stop should call dealership asap to get it resolved.

I don't think the OP means that his car does not move until the engine rev hits 3000rpm. I think he means that the car is slow when the rpm is at around 1000rpm, which is normal given the short 1st gear.
