Anyone Know What Temp Sends the VQ Into Limp Mode?

When the car begins to overheat it will limit the engine to a certain amount of rpm to allow it to cool down the oil temps. I believe this condition only really exists during a road course track day in which you're often using WOT and eventually will start cooking the oil and raising the engine temps. Not sure if I've heard of it during drag strip runs or other spirited driving.

would anything else be causing this? I just had an oil change done, using amsoil. It just started out of the blue to studder at 2500rpm, it was a slow drive home needless to say... Oddly enough the VDC got disabled then the 'service engine soon' light came on 3/4s of the way back.

Wow indeed. How fast were you going (RPM)? You must have been desperate to get to Vegas and made that run in less than four hours Vegas, baby, Vegas!
I miss that drive.
Oh also, may I ask, where are you measuring for temps? Are you measuring ECT and EGT directly or off the ECU? For the oil, off the block, sandwich plate, pan or elsewhere?
