Again, there's no way to measure actual drivetrain loss without doing a before/after with an engine dyno.

That dyno is measuring wheel torque, not crankshaft torque. The dyno connects to the car at the wheels, not at the flywheel, right? You've been sold on the dyno by your local dyno operator.

Horsepower cannot be measured, only calculated. Dynos only measure torque. Horsepower is a function of time, which is where RPM becomes a factor.

Every shop I've been to always tries to reason with me that their dyno is superior to the others, whether its a mustang, dynojet, dynapack, mainlog, dyno dynamics, etc.

"No other dyno (Dynojet, mustang, dynodynamics) can be compared to the MAHA; it is in a class of its own. all others are not accurate enough to compare, only the MAHA is true engine power, on the MAHA it doesn’t mater what gear what load or any other operator factor the crank power is always the same, on other dynos the dyno operator can run a different gear or change the correction factor or a dozen other things to make the wheel # what ever they need it to be. With the MaHa it is always the same, REAL!"
Sounds no more than marketing to me. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but unless the engine is separated from the transmission and the dyno is hooked up to the flywheel there will be no way on EARTH a dyno will measure crank hp. Yes you can have a dyno do the math for you to estimate crank hp but it will never be able to measure it.

I'll say it again, a dyno is a comparison tool not a measurement tool
