I ran regular in my car once. It started knocking real bad and then it started pouring out blue smoke. Then the electrical system got all messed up - I couldn't change the channel on the radio, couldn't adjust my mirrors, I even got locked out of my car because the locks wouldn't work. And to top it off I got a flat tire. I looked like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang driving down the street. Then I went to Shell and put in some Premium and 5 minutes after I started my car all of the problems disappeared. Never put regular gas in your car.

Point out the placard on the inside of the fuel filler door that says "Premium Fuel Only".

Hi, exxon mobile screwed me. They put the premium gas in the middle and it's usually the last one, but 87 was the last one so by the time i realized, I had already filled it which is about14gallons of 87 and have maybe about almost 1/4 of premium gas to begin with before i started pumping. Will this harm my engine? Is there something I can buy to clean out the tank or engine before I pump on the next one when I am on empty? PLEASE HELP!

OMG. Really? ^ just read this thread... and one of the 50 others. If you did read this, you would have got that it will be fine. Just don't be flooring it light to light, and put premium back in next.

Talking about gas, what brand of gas do you use ? What I have noticed is that ANYTHING other than Chevron's premium feels off in my car. I can honestly notice a difference between Chevron vs Shell, Texaco , Costco etc..

Anyone else?

HAH! Actually...I can! Well, sort of...the performance seems to be the same, but 76 gives me the best gas mileage. In order: 76, Shell and then Chevron (best to worst miles per tank).

By the way - Costco's gas is equivalent to Arco gasoline. Edit: Costco gas = Arco gas (Arco distributes to Costco).
