Supercharged VQ37 goes BOOM!
We've seen it happen before and it's happened again. This was an Infiniti installed Stillen kit so it should be under warranty.
Good luck to the owner.

Yeah, the kit has been on for a couple of months. When you are pushing a motor not made for SC then you surely want to ensure a/f is correct. Guess the question is whether the Infiniti tech called Stillen and was notified the existing tune was OK to run with the headers. From what I understand that is the case.

It should also be noted that the article stated that the installer of the headers advised a retune was not needed for this particular component. If Stillen/Infiniti decide to not cover him because of this, he might have a hard time getting it covered by whatever shop advised against the tune, particularly if it was a small shop.

Any shop who doesn't recommend a retune after changing flow characteristics should just shut down now before they blow up more engines.
Unless, Stillen really did say that a retune wasn't needed, which is basically an admission that their headers do nothing to improve flow.
