firecracker noise under the car?

firecracker noise under the car?

I been noticing lately that after i shut off my engine i heard popping noises like firecracker under my car. Is it normal?

It's likely the metal in the exhaust cooling down. No worries, this is normal.

It only happen in 4th of July!

It's normal. Its the heatshield making the noise.

mine does that too but its extremely loud. When I give it a little gas it makes it a little louder.

haha ya i just noticed mine too the other day! its after i turn off my car and get out it really is like firecrackres!

Not sure a firecracker noise is a very good description of what the cats sound like when they are cooling off, but yea thats def the noise u are hearing...the smallest,quietest,no exploding firecracker noise is your cats. haha hilarious thread Katy Perry

Could also be rocks that get into the gap in the heatshield. When the metal gets hop they pop around in there making this crackling sound.
