Gen 3 Filter

Hey guys -

I have a Stillen Gen 3 intake. I don't need to yet but filter cleaning is coming up soon enough and I'd rather have a second set of the K&N's so I can clean the original without losing driving time. Anyone know the exact make and model of those filters and a good site to buy them off? Thanks...

I was gonna change mine out too but figured I try cleaning them first and go from there... Well hope you get your answer soon... GL !

Josh if your on here and reading this... Post up the price bro! Shoots !

^I guess you could. but you'd need filters that have that screw on the top end so you can mount them properly. Other than that any filter should work fine although K&N is probably one of the best.

Cleaning them literally takes 10 minutes. Not worth buying a second set IMO

In regards to the K&N replacement filters, we have them in stock and ready to go. They are $65.00 each.

We are working on a dry filter option however at this time we don't have one immediately available. It's going to be a few months as we're having to work with a manufacturer to build them with the bolt style top mounts like another member mentioned.

Give any one of our sales guys a call and they'll be able to get these going for you.

Out of curiousity how many miles do you have on your G? Depending on your area, these filters actually don't need to be cleaned for 50,000 miles according to K&N.

K&N Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

4. How often do I need to clean my K&N air filter?

If you have not experienced a decrease in mileage or engine performance, chances are your filter is fine and does not yet need cleaning. To be more specific, the filter does not require cleaning if you can still see the wire screen on the entire air filter regardless of how dirty it may appear. When the screen is no longer visible some place on the filter, it is time to clean it. When used in normal paved road, street or highway conditions, our replacement air filters that fit in the factory air box should require cleaning every 50,000 miles and our large conical filters on an intake system should require cleaning every 100,000 miles. When used in dusty or off-road environments, our filters will require cleaning more often. We recommend that you visually inspect your filter once every 25,000 miles to determine if the screen is still visible.

cleaning them is easy but you have to wait a few hours for the filters to dry before you can oil/reinstall them which means you can't drive your car in the meantime.

For the Gen 3 long intake, do I have to remove the front bumper to replace the conical filters? Thanks. And are there any issue when using them? Mine is good so far (approx. 5000 miles)

No just take the radiator shroud off.

You don't need to clean them until you hit 30-50k miles (depending on how dirty they are)

Also it only takes an hour or so to clean so buying a totally new set is a waste of money IMO
