Manual G37S, Need help with clutch.

Is it possible to make any adjustments the the clutch. I have my car 2-3 months, and still have an occasional isssue with shifting. I feel like I really have to concentrate on my shifts to get it right. Have most difficulty 1 st. to 2 nd. Also every blue moon I will stall the car when leaving a stop light, or any where when taking off from a dead stop. All thoughts appreciated.

You can adjust the clutch pedal to have a lower engagement point and to have a slightly smoother engagement. There's a DIY for it on the forum, have a look and you'll find it.

I drive the auto, but I've heard the clutch on the G37 is not easy to master. If you haven't had much experience with a clutch, it can be difficult to learn.

I would call your dealer and discuss it with them. Maybe they can adjust it.

You don't have a signature stating year and model, and you don't state it, so I don't know if you're driving a 2011 or 2001. If it's out of warranty, you might ask a third party garage.

Most clutches have some travel adjustments they can make. I gave up on them in my late 20's. It's auto (easy) for me. Too much other work in life. Plus I have a bad hip.

Do 1.5 turns for your G37. Make sure you mark the original spot then do the 1.5 turn. Took 3min to do mine. No issues so far. Car is easy as hell to drive now, don't even have to lift your foot.

The shift from 1st to 2nd is very touch on this car. The best way to get it smooth is to ease off slower than you would with higher gears and not letting the revs drop below 1.7k.

there's no need to go to the dealer for all of this. There are PLENTY of writeups about the clutch engagement on our cars.

Not only the mysterious clutch engagement point but also the non-linear throttle that needs to be corrected.

I fixed this issue on my G37 when I got the Uprev Tune. This allows for the throttle to be more responsive (linear in the lower revs) so it's not lagging behind your left footwork that causes the engine to stall....this stock non-linear throttle mapping forces you to either 'ease' (granma style)...or 'go fast' by committing to higher-revs.

In the end it's how YOU prefer to set it up to your style. I prefer a more linear accurate throttle and I just learn the clutch engagement point with little practice.

'08 G here, and this car has the easiest clutch I've ever used, don't understand the complaints. I came from a Speed3 and this clutch is way easier to use. The thing I don't like is the gas pedal being floor pivot instead of hanging.

What?! I can't stand hanging pedals. The G's floor mounted is far superior IMHO

I was used to pressing the gas pedal with my toes near the floor, doesn't work well on the G because of the floor mount pedal, just took me a week to get used to it. I don't like having to press the gas pedal with my entire shoe
