Infiniti engine bay emblem
#31
fml. I lost my new engine emblem again. It seems the engine bay gets really hot the and the emblem may have just broke "popped" off during a drive. For sure it was not pried off or stolen. Did this happen to anyone else? Anybody find a cheap replacement for this? I'm not replacing it again

It happens A LOT more than you think with people. And the thing that sucks the most is that , to my knowledge, you can't buy the engine cover emblem separately without buying the entire cover. Not that I've seen at least.
This option is clearly a completely different direction than the Mt. Fuji emblem but very cool and pretty rare since they might not make them again after this pre-order sale happens.

I just removed and reattached my engine cover emblem (to paint it).
It does indeed have 4 plastic pins that insert into the cover.
To remove it, I shaved off the ends on two pins, the other two pins completely sheered off at the base when I applied a razor to them.
They are fragile, brittle and don't hold with much strength.
When I reattached my emblem I used 3M doublestick emblem tape... fingers crossed.
For those looking for emblems, used covers sell for ~$30-~$60 That's pretty pricy for an emblem but it's an option. When you do replace it, use some epoxy.

I just turned in my 2012 lease and the inspector asked me what happened to the engine cover emblem - I was like WTF are you talking about. He tole me so many fall off, and owners dont even notice.

Ok. To anyone who doesn't want to lose their emblem (cause it will happen). The best thing to do is to carefully use a very small (mini) flat blade screwdriver and get under the emblem and pry it off. Then use JB Weld Epoxy Putty (Walmart) and fill in the back side of the emblem and reattach it (following the directions of label). Done. God himself couldn't get it off now. Lol
PS this was my 3rd emblem. Lol. Please feel free to click that THANKS button

This is just funny. My emblem fell off as well and I can't believe I was even doing a search about it. I luckily found mine and I guess I'll use the (JB Weld Epoxy Putty) that skimbrell11 talked about. I guess we all need to impress the mechanic and make sure he knows he's working on an Infiniti cause nobody else is gonna see it Lol. It does bug me when I open the hood.....
