Weiboy is correct, I had already ordered it a day or so before I originally posted. It has not arrived at the shop yet. I am leaning toward giving it a go after reading some more posts over on the Z site. Seems like those that had a custom tune are happy with the kit. Hopefully the guys here at MAC AUtosport are as good at tuning as I have been told by others. Still kinda nervous though. Keep your fingers crossed.

hey, you ignored my PM!!!

no worries! i respect your decision and wish you good luck with it. just remember that your kit is a tuner kit and Stillen won't crap jack cadoooooo for ya if anything goes wrong. they'll solely blame it on a bad install or tune.

Nah, I heard ya brother! You can be the first one to give me a big I TOLD YOU SO if it goes bad LOL! I just kinda felt bad about jerking the guys around anymore at MAC as I spent a couple of weeks going back and forth with the owner Bill and then got him to go back to Stillen and get me a discounted price to match the online sale.

Well I must say good luck and look forward to your build. I have a few questions for you though. Did you tell your shop about your concerns about what you read on the forum? Also did the shop give you any guarantee on it, like if your not happy we will refund you etc etc? We have learned from others that Stillen wont if the car is not performing. I know of one person they were going to allow to return it but they were charging a 15% restocking fee. Not bashing, all this info is the truth, just wanted to get that out of the way. Also is your shop familiar with this exact kit? Meaning have they installed one on a G37 or 370z? Reason I ask is because they seemed to display a high level of confidence in being able to do this job. How I gathered this info is based off of you post so I might have understood wrong. Finally yes I know there are people out there with success story's but they were all through highly reputable tuners were they got there job done. Not taking away from your guys since I never dealt with them but IMO I think this kit just requires a very knowledgeable tuner who is familiar with this product in order to make it right.

They have not installed this kit. They do have experience with a number of installs and tunes for the previous G/Z kits (roots type I think?) that Stillen produced. The owner, Bill told me that he was not happy with the initial results that they got from those kits as they did not produce enough boost/HP to satisfy him at our altitude. He said that Stillen worked with them to make modifications to up the boost and he was ultimately able to satisfy his customers although total output was not great. His shop has tuned a number of Z and G TT builds . They have been using COBB for a long time and have also added Uprev tuning.

Here is a link to their site if you are interested:

^^ Oh, I forgot to say that yes, I did talk to him about the issues I have read from the various threads and told him that this was why I would rather have him perform the tune. He agreed that it would be the best way to safely ensure the best performance.
