I suspect the change in response is simply due to the ECM being reset.
I'd love to hear that the lag is still gone in a few weeks

Exactly, I for one am not waiting around to find out. I just got my buy-back approval letter from my lemon law attorney today.

No offense but if you are replacing a G with a Z06, Im not quite sure you would have ever been happy with the G

Nice new car BTW! My dad has a 3LT C6 vert, not a Z06 but plenty fun enough.

Update 3.
So far the results continue to look promising. I cant figure out whether the lag is completely gone, or was just made considerably less noticeable. When coasting at speeds which typically made the problem evident I am yet to experience an issue. Key difference I am seeing from before is now when accelerating from coasting in the 20-30 range instead of the usual delay, the car revs up slightly (without hesitation) then engages the next gear.
To the point made previously, I think little more time is needed to determine whether this is fixed or if this is the result of the ecm being reset (coupled with wishful thinking on my part,) but again this does seem promising.
With that said, I cant believe I'm the only one on here who had this done so far I would like to hear some feedback from others who got the update.

Yep, got my update today. No more delay/lag. Didn't get to put a lot of miles on it yet, but it also seems to respond more quickly to your right foot (downshift), and pulling away from a stop seems a bit easier to modulate. Before, it was hard to pick anything between "slow" and "rocket launch" mode.

Almatti, are you here? RUN to your Infiniti dealer!!
That is frickin' awesome! Did you happen to ask about the 09s??

Great! Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll get this TSB applied on my next oil change.

^^@blnewt: Well there are probably a few different "flavors" of 09's out there now, depending on which updates the ECU and TCU have received so far if any. My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the updating process looks at what is in the ECU/TCU now as a safety measure and then updates it up to the current program. I think they may need to have a separate routine or check for each "variety" of 09 currently on the road. So, I suspect they are still working on those and will release it soon. The '10-'11 G37 update came just a month after the G25 update, so it should not be too long, IMO. Remember with the 075a bulletin update they updated all of the 7 speed G's to 2011 programming. I believe they will do that again to bring everyone up to 2012 programming - there is simply no reason not to.

I'm not, I really belong in a Z06. I have had 4 of them.

As to the lemon law, I am glad it is out there for consumers. A car purchase is one of the more expensive expenditures that we make in our lives, I do not think it is un-reasonable to demand a good product.

I am a car guy and I have high expectations from my vehicles. It's the reason I purchase the types of cars I do. All of my cases have been legit and auto makers will always protect the bottom line before customer satisfaction and doing the right thing unless told to.

This tranny issue, never should have made it into post production and it is most definitely a safety issue when you merge into traffic and you expect your car to go and it doesn't.

I do not feel the least bit guilty about it. I had high hopes in the G37 and it was an utter failure. Other than the tranny, I had a host of other issues thru-out its short life.

I just hope for those of you sticking with the G that this finally fixes the issue. I won't hold my breathe though.

As for me, onward and upward. Happy motoring

Went for another drive (20 miles or so) after getting the new program. I previously tested "city driving" and didn't have any lag problems. This time did a spirited, twisty hilly road sort of thing where I previously would get lag on tight (20-25 mph) turns. No problems.

So far so good. Long term will tell if it is "fixed all the time" or whether it does something strange once in a while. I'm optimistic so far. Feels like a different car in a way. Very happy so far.
