"Don't know Nothin 'bout History; Don't know Nothin 'bout Biology..... But what I do Know is no 2013 G for me...
Judging from the comments above of the results of driving a new 2013 which apparently, incredibly....still has the serious lagging 7AT.
I had the 027 Reflash done as soon as I heard about in in June 2012. It has helped and still exhibits erratic behavior. I have put on over 5K miles since the application of the Reflash, and just recently I started to use the DM mode some more. That mode has definitively been Dumbed Down. I also used the Manual mode occasions, more so than before, and now sense a difference in D mode. It is performing more like it should: seems to be in the "right" gear more, better stop and go in traffic performance, better initial "feel" from standing start, and only occasional, abrupt downshift when coasting.....I have 39K on the car. No service visits or adjustments made, just a sudden response in this manner.
Only thing that I can think of is the ECU / TCM "adapts" to driver input - see all the comments throughout this long, long thread and check the Web Site about the G [drive adaptive control]. Did the DM and manual mode usage, "trick" or Change the mannerisms and behavior in D mode? This does serve to prove to me anyway, "this is isn't your Father's Buick"....

So I had my wife's G37 tranny flashed two weeks ago. The original complaint was 3rd gear in manual mode and regular mode made the car hesitate and jerk when I changed it into 3rd, also 4th gear slipped going in (engine revved a little.) Driving in traffic at about 20mph and try to accelerate the tranny would stumble and accelerate slow. More gas applied, it would jump to about 4000-5000 rpm's then change gears. What I noticed immediately was 3rd gear still hesitated, 4th gear didn't slip. Transmission shifted faster, better response at higher speeds. If I am in traffic, I still feel some hesitation. In DS mode it will hold the gear longer and accelerate better. It is still not the greatest. My service advisor said there is nothing else they can do. He told me the G is getting a redesign for 2014 which comes out in May 2013. The 2014 has an 8 speed tranny. Go figure, Infiniti can't get the 7 speed correct so they are adding another gear. Let me know who else has this problem and if anyone found a fix. By the way, I just joined today.

I recently picked up a used 2009 G37x with what appeared to be the original transmission programming. Just had the new "d" version of the TCM/ECM reprogramming done and holy hell it feels like a different car. So much better to drive.

Please post your model year if you are reporting in about getting a reflash. Does anyone know if the 2012's have an available update yet? Of course the dealership claims no knowledge. I can just imagine me trying to tell them about the different ways of checking.

The answer to your question is literally staring at you in the face, this thread has more detailed discussion of what the various reprogram versions do than you could possibly hope for.

I have a 2011 G37xS. My last update was 11/27/12, when I asked what Rev the Service Manager said "he didn't know". The tech told me they keep having updates every 3-6 months. So, when I bring my car in for the next oil change just ask and he'll update it again. It's still a little hesitant in 1st and 2nd gear. Of course, it seemed fine when the tech and I took it out for a test drive. He also told me to let the car warm up, in the winter, so the computer has a chance to warms up. I'm hoping they get the computer right one of these days!

ash, the ATS is too small. I would want a little larger car this time 'round. Buick LaCrosse, Audi A6 (a Lotta $$$$), Lexus GS350 ??? (what is with this JoyStick controllers - I hate that). Acura TL....I'm not crazy about the 2013 M37X, {I would have to drive it for agood long test drive}, but Infiniti dealer just contacted me to say that Infiniti will "eat" the last 8 months of my lease. Provided I take a new Infiniti...

Just got my 7AT reprogrammed today with the 'D' version. I recently purchased a 2009 xS, and don't think any reprogramming has been done previously. Tranny feels alot smoother with the rough 4-3 downshift and periodically the 2-1 downshift gone. It seems to search less for a gear (or make up it's mind a little faster) when the pedal is pushed 50-100%. After driving sporty for a little while, the shifts with the paddle shifters feel quicker and smoother also.

You can look at this thread. M owners do not appear to be very chatty!

I just had my 09 ECM and TCM reprogrammed under the TSB. I had my tranny reprogrammed back in April 2012 and the car never felt like this. Service tech never indicated which software version was applied to my vehicle. As others have stated the car feels so much more responsive. It feels lighter and it seems to be in the right gear all the time. I hope it stays like this considering others have stated that the car reverts back to its old ways.
