G37 7speed transmission reprogram

what do you guys mean by harsh?? is it that the engine revs up quick and the transmission changes down quickly and then you are engine braking ? or is it that it just bangs it into a lower gear without rev matching and the car jerks at the shift point due to engine braking? harsh means ... what?

For me, the later. Not enough throttle blipping so the downshift upsets the balance of the car. And in some cases, the torque converter disengages completely for a few seconds, the re engages in gear and very suddenly. This appeared for me only after the tsb was applied.

Mine's been just about perfect since 027a. Only a couple times has it done something a little odd. Before 027a it would drive me nuts every day. It isn't as refined as other transmissions, that is for sure, but I'm happy it works well now. And the downshift rev matching is a nice conversation piece, now that it is not crazy like before 027a.
I would not call the downshifts with the paddles harsh at all. The "zoom" rev match sound is definitely fun with an exhaust. IMO it has not done anything unusual with use of paddles or had any strange delays so far (4000 miles driven on 027a). Mine's a coupe, maybe it is a little different?

Has anyone had any luck applying 12-027c after having done 10-075 earlier? I have a 2010 and had applied 10-075 earlier in 2012. Now when I took my G in for service, I printed the 12-027c and took it with me. The tech told me this latest TSB (12-027c) did not apply to my car. I have my ECM and TCM numbers and they are NOT listed on the bulletin, so am I out of luck? Doesn't this bulletin apply to ALL 2009-2012's?
My car has all the typical complaints well documented on this forum (lag, hesitation, clunkiness, etc etc)
Please! Anyone?

I have ITB-075, and in manual mode (no paddles), I get huge jerks when going from braking to the throttle. I also get jerks when going from the throttle to coasting to braking to a stop. The car isn't even changing gears when it jerks. It almost feels like you're slamming the brakes for an instant. HATE IT.

After picking up the car and complaining at checkout, the Tech that serviced the car called me personally and explained what was happening. He confirmed they are using Consult III+ and gave me the ECM and TCM numbers currently installed in my car. The 10-075 was done a couple of months ago (and at a different dealership), so I assume that the numbers he gave me are the ones that he saw on his system. I checked those numbers vs the codes listed on 12-027 and they are not listed there. For example my ECM ends with 1MW0C and only 1MW0A and B are listed on the TSB. He claimed mine is "newer". I'm not sure if Infiniti does updates to the TSBs to include new codes or just for larger things like adding new years or models.

Harsh means, abnormal, driver and passengers notice it, revs drop low and when it catches after a delay, jerks the drive train

Don't think you (or most people would). The down shift exhasut note does not make up for a jerk that both driver and passengers notice. Also likely not good long term for the drive train. Infiniti has acknowledged that this is a probelm, at least with my car

Agree, similar problem with mind. Dealer replaced with a new transmission to rule out mechanical causes...problem still exists so likely a program but with the 027 flash

Imua1 , I've started to notice that occasionally, I'm getting this Jerk too. When I had, my 07 G35X, the Dealer first replaced the Valve Body, then the entire Tranny (5AT) [I was experiencing a hard - abrupt downshift into 3rd gear] and the problem was better, but not gone. It was livable condition, but the Dealer in it's zealousness to charge Infiniti for a new Tranny Install, {no cost to me, Infiniti approved it], elected to install a new Transmission. It seems with the problems and distaste for the 7AT in my 2010 G37X, that JATCO does manufacture quality Transmissions. As I've posted a number of times before, evne with the new Reflash I had applied in JUne 2012, I will give serious re-consideration to opt for a new G or M when my lease is up in July 2013. If the Tranny is not vastly improved in performance, I opt for NO !!! It's been a very disappointing ride with way too much variance in perfromance.
