Infiniti under-reported actual HP figures for VQ37?
Hey - I got this from an older post in a Maxima forum - has anybody seen this? This write-up and dyno test estimates VQ power to be around 365 at the flywheel. And says that the VQ power is under-rated in the same way that the 335i is under-rated officially, which is, I assume, for insurance purposes.
Anyway, thoughts? Is this true? I've seen dyno results for stock G37 sedans and coupes and they don't seem to indicate the same thing, but of course one dyno reads / reports differently than another dyno, dyno results are externally inconsistent by nature.

WTF no way that can be true.
365 horsepower is a huge difference comparing to 330.
I am sure it's a difference that we could just tell by driving the car.
We could own the road if we have that much hp lol.
Anyone have more information about this article ?

I agree with the article 100%.
had this disagreement with another member here.
he insisted bmw has less drivetrain losses than infiniti.
already knew the 335 was underated.
how else are they that fast.
for the record,300crank hp does not equate to 287whp.
I said the true hp level was closer to 350crank hp.
as far as the vhr motor is our 37's,was also underated.
the reason the 335 pulls on the bottom end is the curb weight diff.
g37 with 4was 3668lbs
bmw 335 is 3542lbs.
120lbs & less torque is why, yet top end 335 eats dust.

350 crank HP is weak these days when you've got cars cranking out 430hp. Not to mention with the weight of these cars its not enough to own the road as one poster said.

328 hp is for G37 Sedan.
The Seden and Coupe have different horse power.
Also, our car doesn't even exist in GT5 lol. They only have the Nissan Skyline 370GT in GT5 and not Infiniti G37 coupe.
check out the engine spec here:
