Best bang for your buck whp mods..

I'm new to Nissan and the G37. I'm looking to see what are the best mods there are for the G37s to squeeze out abit more ponies. I know every car has its weak area.
What mods are worth it?

thx
Danny

Thx
Should I start with one before the other. Is there one mod that adds a significant amount of power? ex: like headers, intake, bigger throttle body, ect..

I remember my old whip, 03 acura cl-s, that just changing out the headers to comptechs you'd get 16whp. Thats impressive

Stillen gen IIIs have been shown to make 16 whp on a stock car, that is probably your best bang for your buck. A catback is good for about 10-15 I would guess, not sure what hi flow cats are worth on top of that.

Generally speaking your first breathing mod will net the most power, the subsequent ones not so much. If you get two or more of the above mods, I would consider an UpRev tune mandatory, as your car's A/F ratio will likely be out of whack, making it feel sluggish. Tune's have gained 30 whp and 20 wtq with full bolt ons, really the G needs a tune to take full advantage of bolt ons.

With intake, catback, hfcs, and a tune most cars are putting down 315-330 whp depending on the dyno. Bigger gains are not possible at this point as the current aftermarket software cannot crack the VVEL timing. FI is really the only way to get above this power level.

I've talked to people that added intakes, test pipes, cat back, and only gained like 5hp lol. That's the reality these companies lie about the hp for instance the intakes when they say 16hp gain that's dynowing it with no bumper an blowing air right into the intakes. Real life situation it's crap, like when they said 26 mpg highway I only get 20 max! Im all highway too

Did they tune afterwards? Also, the 16 hp i was referring to was someone on the forums, who did a before and after, this test happened to confirm what Stillen claims on their website. Of course you have to take the company's dyno with a grain of salt, they naturally will show higher numbers. The best research you can do is on the forums from people who have done their own before and after.

I agree GTM Twins are the way to go if youre gonna be dumping some serious money in the car. CAI, HFC, CBE, & UpRev are going to cost about $3000 on a conservative side for minimum gains. But not bashing your enthusiasm to mod, cause I've done it too.

It's not whp, but gears are definitely the best bang for the buck out of all the mods.

I love when someone asks how to "squeeze out a bit more ponies" or for a "cheap mod to increse power" and everyone screams TT. Does not really fall under either category.

lol
I had gears on my S2000. I did alot of track time and that where it shined. But regular light to light I don't recommend it. It was fun for a short time but started hating it in the end.
MPG went dwn in just normal driving, Incresed engine noise(more stress), had to splice into the ecu to get the mph right, everytime i raced another S when I shifted they still had more gearing to speed up. So it was like Id pull, i shift then they'd catch up
