Thats your biggest variable right there. Of course you are gonna see better times in weather like that compared to hot humid weather. Temps have an extremely huge factor on this engine. After doing over 30 dyno runs in the past month and monitoring every temp reading and sensor there is, it was amazing to find out how a change in just a few degrees can have a big impact on how this engine wants to run.
I was trying to draw a comparison between the VQ37 and the LSx engine used in the G8, and how the LSx was less affected by heat soak than the VQ of my G.

haha I know. It just seems like a lot of people are raving about this thing lately. I wish more people weren't afraid to go to a dyno. I know people say they are hard to find etc. but after searching around I was able to locate like 5 shops with dynos within like a 100 mile radius of me. And its really not that expensive, a lot of the shops usually have 1 day a week where they offer like 2-3 pulls for 50 bucks or so with a/f. If anything it's worth it just to know how your car is running.
So for right now, I'll 'settle' for the Hypertech.

I'm not saying you should go get a dyno tune done, just go get some pulls done to see how the hypertech is doing. Tuners are hard to find but I'm sure you could find a shop with just a dyno easier than you think. Most the shops around here work on domestic american cars. After searching around the local corvette forums etc. I was able to find several shops that had dynos. Again they were not tuners but I was still able to do some dyno runs.
You say you want to know what a person is doing before you let them tune your car. I'd want the same thing if I were using an out of the box one size fits all tune. I'd want to atleast make sure the car is running correctly and actually know what all the tune is doing. And if anything you get some actual numbers out of it instead of just saying "well the butt dyno feels faster".
Sorry if it seems like I'm bashing the hypertech, I am not trying to do that in any way. They have been around a long time and have a good reputation behind them. I just think it would be nice to see some real data behind the claims. I think it would also benefit the community too.
