Problems with 5AT shifter not working

I've had my G37s for 3 years now with just over 30k miles. I started noticing a couple months ago that my manual mode shifter wasn't being as responsive. Then about 2 weeks ago, the shifter wasn't responding at all. Going from 1st to 2nd, it just sat in 1st unless I reverted to the paddle shifters or pushed it back into normal Drive mode.

While I would much rather use the Manual mode than have the car shift prematurely when I'm doing normal city driving if I keep it in Automatic Drive mode, has anyone else had this type of problem???

I'm afraid I have no choice but to take it into the dealer as I'm assuming it's some kind of electrical/wiring issue with the sensors of the shifter...unless someone has an easier solution.

Take it to the dealer, I had this problem a while back and it was something related to the shifter chip. They replaced it under warranty and shifter was back to normal.

Thanks man. Is it still covered if I've had it for 3 years now?

I'll bring her in to the dealership then...thanks.

If you're still under warranty it should be covered
