BB, how is this setup holding up? How many miles on it now? Noise levels acceptable?

At some point it will be time for a new clutch, and thinking about options now. I may do some intake/exhaust mods too. Mainly wanted good clutch feel, decent daily drivability, and long clutch life. I intend on doing it right - flywheel, csc, clutch, pressure plate. Stage 3 should be fit the bill and is only marginally more than stage 2. I assume the kit also come with the throwout bearing and pilot bushing (didn't see these two items listed at zspeedperformance)?

Shifting is still smooth even when cold even with the higher viscosity fluid in there.

For anyone is annoyed by the chatter after a solid mass flywheel install, this will cure it.

How is this process holding up? Is the chatter still reduced/gone with this formula applied over a year since this post?

Wow - it's been a year already? Yeah it is, I do get a little chatter when it gets really hot and the fluid gets thinner, but it is only noticable in the garage. Still shifts smoothly and the integrity of the fluid is holding up as well last time I checked (2 months ago).

Thank you for the update man! This is a good thread for all to read that outlines the choices they have but you just help me solidify another choice for my shopping cart! Idle chatter is a big issue for me and I want to choose the path of least noise/chatter, if this is truely a long lasting fix, turns out its a fix on what seems to be the best clutch/flywheel set up for our cars too with the OS Giken. Thanks again man!

looks like im loosing the battle at the dealership, i'd rather buy an aftermarket clutch than paying $1200 for a new OEM clutch. Is it hard to DIY the clutch replacement on the G? I've done 4 so far, but no experience on infiniti yet.

DIY on the G is similar to tranny change on any other car. Drop the mid section of the exhaust, drivetrain, and the tranny. I'm thinking about selling my slightly used OS Giken Twin plate clutch if anyone is interested.

^ you shouldn't! Def change out everything and start out fresh. I did just that and my flywheel started to slip after 15k miles. Modme's clutch setup is a good clutch. You should look into that

don't consider! change em all or you'll end up like me changing out the flywheel way sooner.

Manager finally approved the "no charge to customer" clutch replacement, I hope it'll last me for a while.

After a long wait (3 months) I'll receive the new OS Giken clutch (GTS2CD) twin disc.

My options were:

NS112-AQ6: GT1CD dampened single-plate with hard cover, MSRP $1540 - Recommended for up to 430hp.
NS112-BP6: GTS2CD dampened twin-plate with soft cover, MSRP $2090 - Recommended for up to 500hp.
NS112-BQ6: GT2CD dampened twin-plate with hard cover, MSRP $2090 - Recommended for up to 700hp.

Twin-plate soft cover seemed like the best choose for me with my interests in clutch petal feel.

Currently have a JWT clutch for the past year. Besides the normal cement grinder noises you get from trany due to the light fly wheel (which I don't think will go away with the OS Giken clutch either) I do get other rattling noise since having the JWT clutch installed. It's not a consistent noise and mostly only occurs when accelerating and when the outside temperature is around 60 outside. Interesting enough the noise goes away with light pressure on the clutch.

Anyway, got the new OS Giken clutch coming in next week. Unfortunately, don't have an install date yet but I'll post more once I got it install.

Question

Can anyone comment on GTM's GTM Spec Exedy Twin Plate?

As I've had Exedys in both my Eclipse & EVO, I tend to gravitate to what I know... But everyone here seems to lean towards the OS Giken.

For the moment, I'll be NA, but FI is likely in the VERY near future.
