If I could get my contact to become a vendor on here and offer a group buy on a clutchmasters combo, would anybody be interested? I'm leaning that way myself,.....

I'd be interested in a clutch upgrade down the road once the stock one gets a bit more miles on it, but question is...how much would it cost to have an aftermarket clutch installed???

Aftermarket or not, it's going to run you from 300-1200 bucks depending on where you go.

That's a wide range. I used to have a Jaguar X-Type Sport 5MT, and it was $1000. Granted that was a FWD based AWD setup, which required removing the T-case. It was quite a job to do.

The G is the run of the mill RWD setup. I'd expect around $500, but no more than that.

Over 1500 miles on my clutch/flywheel combo now. Grabs like a ****. Revs a little faster than OEM flywheel. Chirps in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in my 6MT. Slightly stiffer pedal than stock. Smooth engagement.

which setup do you have? with the lightweight flywheel does your shifter makes like a grindy noise during engagement? i know there's chattering sounds like a cement truck but i'm talking about the shifter itself.

Southbend stage III clutch and lightened steel flywheel see post #4. No grinding going into in gear, louder idle noise.

No replacing steel inserts like on aluminum flywheels.

Just took the first drive with the Giken twin plate - here are my impressions:

1. Grabs solid - could just be my imagination but it seems the turbos are spooling up quicker
2. Engagement is harsher than stock, but not too bad. With a little practice it will be nice and smooth
3. Clutch pedal is much stiffer than stock. I also have the helper spring removed from the clutch pedal so it makes it a little stiffer still. Not too bad though.
4. Noise - idling with clutch engaged - sounds like rocks in a coffee can.
5. Noise with clutch pushed in is like dinner plates rattling together lightly.

I havent been able to get on it yet as I need to break it in, but it seems as though it should hold the power just fine.
