Redline
Hi Guys, new here to the site and to Infiniti...
I have read conflicting information, so I wanted to ask the experts:
What is the redline on my engine?
I've seen 7000, 7200, and even 7500 rpm...
Well, what's the truth?
Thanks in advance,
John

Remember, what you see on your speedo isn't really accurate, I had my car tuned and bumped my redline up to 7600-7700 but I see the needle hit 8k sometimes

Redline means nothing. It's where the manufacturer puts red/yellow paint on the factory tachometer...
What's important, is where the RPM limiter kicks in, and where the optimum shift point point of the engine RPM is.
The VQ37 ideal shift point is right around 7300-7400rpm. About 300-400rpm over peak HP. This drops the engine into peak TQ rpm right after the shift.
