Rapid tapping sound at 3500+ RPM

My 2010 G started a loud tapping sound yesterday at higher RPMS (3500+). The tapping sounds like it is coming from the dash near the instrument gauge cluster, but it's hard to isolate. The tapping increases in frequency with RPM, but stops when below around 3500 RPM.

I have experience with engine pinging, noisy lifters, etc. This does not sound like an engine noise, and it doesn't really sound like a typical interior "rattle".

There is a TSB for 07-09 for silicone breaking free in the cooling system that causes a "tapping sound from the dash area". The fix is a thorough flush of the system. This TSB does not apply to the 2010 yet. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I haven't noticed any tapping sound. My 2010 only has 1,600 miles on it.
Hopefully if I'm going to have any problems it will show up in the next few weeks, since I'm taking a 4,000 + mile trip in early June.
What is the mileage on your G?

1,500 miles. Again, this does not sound like valve/engine tapping.

THere is the VVEL actuator noise which is a "tapping". Ester oil cures that but I don't know if thats what you have....

what you say is exactly what my 08 sounded like when I had the TSB done and fixed it. I would take it to the dealer and show them the TSB even if it is not for you year.
