Read these.

Stillen really has put tons of thought, design and work into this kit. It is amazing all that you get for the price.

370Z / G37 Supercharger System Progress: Intake Manifold Detailed : STILLEN
370Z / G37 Supercharger System Progress: Intake Manifold & Intercooler : STILLEN

It is only 800 dollars more than GTM, but yet you get a custom aluminum manifold, heat pump, and air-water intercooler

I've seen those... the theory behind it is sound, and it totally makes sense why they use a AC with their design rather than a IC. I'm actually rather excited to see this, as I've been losing faith in Stillen over the last few years, and I really believe this could be a comeback.

I am just trying to decide if I should get my blower polished or not. Thinking of doing a gloss black jet coating.

I sent them a request for a coat to do it all in black (piping and blower). Their coating are good upto 1700 degrees and provide upto a 35 degree temp difference.

JET-HOT Coatings Color Chart

just from previous vortech having them polishing it not a good idea. i would go elsewhere to get it done.

I have never really liked polished anyways, that is why I am leaning towards Jet-Hot coating everything.

I actually would want the manifold milled down smooth as well.

How much skill is required to DIY install one of these kits? I don't have any experience working on cars but consider myself reasonably technically inclined. I could easily manage to go without my car for a month or so if it just meant taking my time. With good instructions what is the general opinion on attempting the install myself as a first timer? Am I nuts?

Thanks for the links. I like the idea of that air to water integrated intercooler. I still think you might see some amount of heat soak from the location on top of the engine, but its probably similar to the amount of heat soak you will get from the piping in the engine bay if you want with a FMIC like the GTM kit.

Personally, although its a VERY unproven system, conceptually, I like this a little better than GTM because you should get better cooling properties from the air to water IC, and it doesnt reduce any airflow going to the stock radiator.

However, I think I like the appearance of the stock-like look of the GTM system.

Just get both IC and AC and call it a day if you're too concerned, maybe make use of the fake vents for once in our lives lol

$900 difference actually. Pretty significant IMO, considering that will pay for important supporting mods like an oil cooler, thermostat, and gauges. Or you can cover most of the cost of an upgraded clutch and flywheel with that extra money.

I know you've been reading all these threads. I'm pretty sure you already know the price for the GTM kit will just get you in the door.

either way you will pay about $7,500 to $10,000. This will include if you ship the car to gtm or stillen. Im working on a local stillen vendor who said they will charge $1,000 for the whole stillen SC kit plus oil/tranny cooler. Its a steal of a deal for me. But i still my go GTM cause oem look. I'm hoping either way i will not wish i had bought the other kit.
