Given you and they have the history, I'd ask if there is anything in the history that would lead them to believe the car was not properly serviced. If not, I'd ask them to waive the $500. as it is a worry to you. I'm guessing it's a CYA boilerplate statement that they use? Personally, I wouldn't be concerned, I think I'd be sort of glad they may give me a fresh engine.
Please keep us posted. Potential Inifinti buyers read these posts and will want to know how this issue was handeled.

I will keep posting as I walk through this process. It will probably be a few weeks before I get anything done anyway but I will be going by the dealership and speak to them in person to get a few more details before I move forward with opening the engine...

Does anyone feel like if they open the engine it might not be the same afterwards if they decide that there is nothing wrong with it?
