I went underneath my car the other day and noticed that! Glad I didn't invest in one.

When I installed the 4.083 gears in my 350Z I had to drop the entire pumpkin out of the car to get the rear diff cover off. So I'm assuming the same has to be done if you want to put on the finned cover. There is a bolt that goes through the rear diff bushing and into the cover. You may be able to squeeze the old cover out the bottom by taking that bolt out, but I doubt it.

I've circled the bushing that the bolt goes through and goes into the diff:

Here is the Nismo diff cover with the same bolt location circled:

Here is the link for the cover: Nismo Factory JDM Differential Finned Cover 38351-350DK - Nissan 370Z Infiniti G37

If I ever put the 4.083 gears in my G then I would want to install the finned cover just for looks lol.

Here's my DIY for the differential bushings, the cover uses the same procedure, except replacing the bushings:

2X4 on top of the jack, then forward of the fins!!! Directly on the diff housing.

Inner (not the pinch welds, further in) rails forward of the rear wheels.

Need a low profile jack.

No, I was asking you. I can see the 2x4 working nicely.

Yes you have to pull the rear end as I have the cover on mine seeing as I was planning on tracking the car alot. Tracked the car once and although it was fun I wanted to do full on wheel to wheel racing so I bought me a dedicated race car.

Yep the GCC spec cars have finned housings not covers. I also found that Australian Z's/G's also have the same finned housing. Here's a better pic below >>
