kick in transmission

Is your transmission stock or did you upgrade it? I sat in my friend's lambo and that thing threw me out of my seat when it shifted

Make sure that when you tap the upshift paddle, you do not lift off the gas at all. Also, it will become worse the higher in rpm's you get. I find that if you hold the gas steady through the shift; no kick.

i get the same thing although not quite the way you describe xcalibur.
sometimes under full throttle at high rpms, it just has a major delay when upshifting.
it is smooth once it actually shifts no banging,no noise or any vibrations.
I was thinking maybe the valbe body is going, i got 25k on my car so maybe?
gonna have the dealer check next service visit.

I had the same problem. I brought it to the dealer and had them do and ecm reflash. My problems were solved. The Delay in upshift stopped and my car stopped lunging forward. Hope that helps.

I had a Jaguar X-type before this. It started at about 35,000 miles giving me transmission lurching issues when it shifted between 2nd to 3rd and would go into neutral for like 1 second then bam!!!..slam into 3rd gear. So I took it to a very reputable dealership (My A$$! - The Collection) and they told me "Yeah its not a breaking tranny, no worries you just need to re-flash and its all good - its like a bad version of Windows you gota up date it and its new". Now when I heard that it sounded like sht coming out of there mouth because I've owned older cars before back in the day(yeah im old) and I've had to 4 times on my old Camaro replace the transmission myself with the help of a freind due to the fact I was buying them at the time from a junkyard (hit or miss) - long story.
Anyways from my experience and from what I've been told is that transmission lurching eventually will break the transmission unless fixed. Jaguar didn't fix it or owe up to it, all they did was re-flash it and the lurching came back after about a week or 2 so I sold that piece o sht real quick after 8 re-flashes (2 costing me $120 a re-flash) because when I asked the replacement cost of a transmission(after 51,00 miles my warranty was out) they told me $6,800 dollars. Drove it down to CarMax next day and SOLD!
I'm not saying this is going to be the problem here by any means. I'm just saying if it keeps coming back, before your warranty is out demand a new transmission and if needed get the BBB and other legals involved.
Seriously that's my #1 reason why I purchased a 6MT. Tired of Auto Tranny issues!

Xcalibur I had an 03 sedan with 85k original trans. built in feb of 02.
I ropmped that thing hard, no issues at all. so i think ds mode is killing the trans rpms to high for to long a period.
We will see im making a serivce appt. time to give some loaner 37X sedan some attention.
and i started to think it was the throttle bodie(s) getting gummed up.

I don't think he is talking about the lag that happens on downshifts. I believe he is talking about upshifts (when done manually). At certain RPMs, when the shift is done, there is kick and the whole dash shakes!!
