You do realize this is a combination of every component? Including all the way down to the tire size.

Where have people been getting their gears changed? Dealer?? It's a tricky job; not something you can do in your garage...

I'm guessing he never did this? I just picked up a set of 3.70's out of 370Z. Still looking at options for the front diff tho. ;/

Interested to see what you come up with man. I've been looking into gear swap also, almost regretting getting an x model that is until winter hits again lol

Is the 3.70 a plug and play or do you have to get some other components to make it work?

I can get my hands on the same set but if i have to modify some other things to make it work i might as well just go the 4.08 route...

The 3.70 should be a plug and play, just need to replace bearings and what not while you in there . But the rear diff is the same R200 and the G37S coupes have the same gears. If you have a X you'll need to swap both BTW

Hmm, this is taking some serious consideration considering how much time and money i can save. Thanks for always helping a fella out with questions dude...

I don't have an X, but what is the # for the front differential for it (ex: R200...)?

I wonder how much different the front differential on the X is to any of the fronts on the 4x4 Pathfinder, Xterra, and Frontiers are. I'm guessing the G37x is much smaller and one of a kind. Why it's so hard to do this mod?

So your saying that in order to remove the front diff the motor has to be pulled? That's some crappy design on infiniti's part. Hopefully no one has a front diff failure out of warranty and has to have it replaced, that's one expensive repair.

Did you seriously have to pull out the motor?
