magnaflow drone!!
Question i just installed a magnaflow exhaust on my 7at g37. I am getting a loud drone at around 1500 to 2000 rpm is their some way of lowering the volume of the drone, extra resonators or sound proofing the trunk.
And if i decide to put extra resonators does it matter where in the exhaust, front or back?
thanks.

Did you replace your cats or are you still on the stock ones?

I have the Magnaflow catback and I wouldn't say mine drones at all. I do definitely hear it 1500-2500~ rpm, but it's not that deep, annoying resonance that I would classify as drone and pretty much goes away once I'm done accelerating (don't even hear the exhaust on the highway). Do you have the full catback and are you sure it's properly installed? Might be because you have the 7at so in 7th you'll be turning a much lower rpm at cruising speed then my 6MT (stupid 6th gear infiniti!!!)

I've had my Magnaflow for about a year now and I still love it. As for the drone it is very slight below 2k RPM, but how long are u driving below 2k RPM? Maybe it's because I have 6 speed, and I never stay below 2k in any gear, but the drone that I get below 2k is very minor to be honest with you, not bad at all. You will find that almost all aftermarket exhausts will drone below 2k, so my advice to you is give it a few weeks, u won't even notice it. When it's new u zero in on these things, but in time u don't notice it at all.
