Transmission slam in low gears

This is an awesome forum ... Its great reading everyone's experinces with their Gs. I just got mine in July and have broken 1200 miles. I love the ride and have experimented with the different modes. I have had similar issues that others have had with their transmissions like the engine braking which I don't mind. One thing that has happened a few times since I've had it is that when I'm going cruising slow in traffic like 20 mph, and then accelerate slightly the transmission sometimes slams into a lower gear with a noticable thump ... I've never heard this on any automatic transmission. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yea ... like a bowling ball. I checked for the updates and I dont think this is related to the new update for the engine braking and the flaring as this hasn't been a symptom listed. What the transmission does is it will downshift with a clunk and a very very hard downshift to the point the car jerks and u hear the thump/ clunk.

I read about this in another thread somewhere. I think there's already a discussion on it, can't remember the details. But like other people said, do a search.

Don't think 6mt would have this if you down shift rev match.

I took my G in to the dealership for maintenance and mentioned the slamming in low gears. The tech said that the TSB fix for the hard engine braking also fixes this because the transmission has a lag in lower gears when you accelerate. I havent felt the slam/ kick anymore so hopefully its fixed.
