How often can you spray without causing any engine damage?

I'm actually more worried about the transmission/differential than the motor.

With the addition of an RPM window switch, the solenoids only open at certain RPMS so I honestly can't justify needing a "tune"
Yeah that's what my buddy spraying a 75hp wet kit said with his VQ35 Maxima. Needless to say he melted 2 of his pistons. A tune is always going to save you in the longrun, but I suppose if you only spray it once in a while... it may not be too harmful with these thicker pistons and rods.

OK but how often can you spray before you cause engine damage.

I don't know about you guys but N20 on a car is tabboo in my books, because even when you're turbo'd/scharged, the power comes in smoothly, while a nitrous setup just kicks in! One moment you're doing 250whp all off a sudden you're doing 350whp.. that's just dangerous impulsive force bro

Ever heard of a progressive nitrous kit?

I'm sorry, but most of the comments in here are pure ignorance on this subject. Cheap nitrous kits in the hands of inexperienced users are trouble, but progressive nitrous kits done right are every bit as "safe" as turbo/supercharginging options.

Where did the OP mention anything about a progressive kit?

You made the same in general nitrous response as the other guys about the evils of its use.. If you want to edit your post to directly address the OP, then I'll quote one of the other generalists instead.

Very clean install, and used sparingly, should be more cost effective than FI.

Glad to see someone is pioneering this

There are alot of dumb comments. I actually had the Venom VCN-2000 system on my G35 for many years, and years before that on my RSX. Many kits have a linear/progressive mode. It provides a very smooth dyno curve, much like a superchargers (but with more torque).

If you know what you are doing they can be very safe. Mine even adjusted the A/F ratio automatically to ensure you do not run rich. It also has a cutoff if you do ever run rich.

I would say if done properly, nitrous is much safer than TT or Supercharger. With nitrous and good engine management system, you can program exact spray percentages throught the RPM range, a/f levels, timing, and more. There is no boost creep, oil worries, vacuum leaks, ect.

Some people just hate nitrous, that's all there is to it. Just ignore them or if you're feeling lucky try to educate them. When I was growing up, my dad had a 300 shot in his funnycar and a nitrous refill station in the back garage. I ain't afraid...
