Blown Engine and Trans
Ok, I have a 5AT. I have tracked my car and driven the heck out of it...Three months ago metal shavings were found in my oil due to poor oil pressure. I needed a brand new engine... the whole long block. Two weeks ago, my car wouldn't accelarate past 30mph.....trans had metal shavings in it and I needed a completely new one. Under warranty I have gotten a brand new engine and a brand new trans...not complaining but has anybody else had this happen??? I had 35k miles on my car when these things happened.

Oh and I'm most likely getting my tranny (6MT) replaced this week. It grinds in 5th and 6th and shakes the whoe dam car when goin faster than 60

Well I can kind of add some info for ya. He participates in A LOT of track events out here in So Cal. I know he's gone a few times to the Auto Club Speedway events and to Buttonwillow. And he's done a crap load of canyon runs.

I was chill when I broke my engine in. brand new..I have HFC's, exhaust, intakes, and grouding wires. I couldnt get an answer from the dealership as to why the oil pressure went down so low that it caused engine damage and grindage. I use the paddle shifters sometimes and sometimes stay DS. I track and drive the car hard but I think a lot of us do so I,m not sure whats up...I am happy to have a new engine and tranny though.

Because they shift faster and the paddles are more fun!
