B&M Short Shifter inquiry.

I figured I would post this under the Coupe forum as it tends to get more traffic. Yes, I've searched and the only thread I could come up with was this one, https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...t-shifter.html, which does not have any actual relation to how the shifter feels, installation, observations, ect.

Does anybody have this shifter yet?? I had a B&M on my SR tranny before I went to a Z32 trans (so I wouldn't break output shafts every damn time I launched the car hard) and it was THE ****! Solid as a ****ing rock. If you missed a shift with that shifter on an SR tranny, you need to go back to an automatic.

So, anyway, I'm hoping it would feel the same in the G37's tranny. I'm looking to order one soon but was trying to get a feel of how people liked them, and how in depth the install is. Anybody?

B&M Precision Sport Shifters are engineered to increase shift precision and substantially shorten the shift throw. Flawless shifts coupled with highly durable components will provide smooth transmission performance for hundreds of thousands of miles.

These shifters provide the type of strength and performance you demand. They’re so positive this is the highest quality shifter you can buy, B&M is willing to back it up with a 1-million-mile warranty!

Wow, I'm amazed that NOBODY on this entire forum has the B&M short shifter. Strange!

I know that it's gonna shift solid, I was just wondering how in depth is the install. I don't like taking apart a whole lot of my interior on a new car, sometimes the plastics don't go back together like they should!

If i remember correctly, you have to go under the car to unbolt it from the tranny.

I have it in my posession, but am waiting for the new shift **** from TWM Performance to come in before starting. The install does not look too bad, although you have to file away an eighth inch of the mount in the car to allow the geometry of the new shifter to go into reverse.
It seems like a pretty good piece, but I will post a review next week once I get it in the car.
The **** is an A6 Leopard in Satin....here is the link for anyone interested:

Nice, i look forward to the install. Last time i had a TWM shortshifter & **** was on my 2005 corolla. The **** was flat black, and ended up fading/rubbing off to a rusty brown color. satin finish does look really nice though.

Does shifting effort increase?

Yeah, it is pretty short already, but if you add the B&M shifter, the FEEL increases dramatically. Some like it, some don't, I personally do. Plus, if you drag your car and want the absolute fastest time, a short shifter can technically take a tenth or two off your quarter mile time.

Awesome, let everybody know when you get done with the installation. I'm not to fond of having to "shave" anything on a new car, but well see.

About the ****, $100 dollars? Jesus, I hope that **** is the ****! I do see it's nice and heavy tho, and I like that.

Does anyone know if this shifter has springs that remove the horizontal "play" when in neutral? I was playing with my friends aftermarket shifter on his Corvette, and there's absolutely no play in neutral, and it takes noticeable effort to move the shifter horizontally.
