When to replace the G's ignition coils?
About at 7 this morning I had to have the G towed to the dealer cause it started running rough again and felt like I was having a misfire. Turns out two coils were burned up. Service claims there was a defect in the ignition coils and were replaced under warranty. I just had one replaced a few weeks ago too. Something was up It's not normal for coils to go bad this fast. I had my G for about 5 months already. Anyways I was given a loaner G35 for the day. And that's why I'm home right now lol. I decided to not go to work
But anyways what can cause coils to go out like that? It won't damage the engine in anyway would it? Why is this so gay

anything can go bad, you can go out and buy a defective tv, it happens. but usually good quality parts dont go bad often and quality control makes sure something defective doesnt leave the factory. coils can go bad, but its not common, just as any other sensor can take a crap at any given time, ive seen it happen. after their replaced you should be fine if that was the only faulty part causing the issue. and there should be no engine damage whatsoever since you did not put the car under heavy load during that time.

What are the symptons of a blown coil? Sometimes my car will shake briefly when idling in traffic, almost like its about to stall but it never does and it goes away as quickly as it happened.

Well mine started shaking too while at a red light. A couple of weeks ago when my coil burned up it shook violently. But when two more burned up today it wasn't shaking that bad but was noticeable. Service consultant told me that I'm not the only one with the ignition coil problem. I was told I'm the 7th person this month that has come in with the problem. If any of you feel a shaking while in idle I'd have your ignition coils checked ASAP.

Does it consistantly idle rough? Mine will sputter infreqently, but its becoming more regular. But definately not regular enough to demonstrate to a dealer.
I was thinking maybe it was the battery since I have a system, but im not sure that makes sense.
