exactly!!! you don't get a 40k+ car especially in this economy if you are going to be worried about what fuel to put in your car

I hope they all require or have features that can take advantage of that higher octane fuel, such as adjustable timing to advance.

^+1 if the cars arent made to handle the higher octane fuel then its really a waste. also depends on where you are, if youre somewhere at altitude (like CO) then you can go down a step or so...even though I would never think of doing that on my precious G

Not if the vehicle was designed for a lower octane fuel. Putting 93 octane in a Ford Fusion is not necessary (which calls for 87).

Our G's higher performance engines need the higher octane fuel for optimum performance.

My previous car was a G35, and I decided to not use Premium thinking that it's a leased car etc. etc. Then about 6 months into the lease, I decided to upgrade on the fuel out of curiosity and I could definitely tell the difference it made to the performance!

There's no going back now ... I don't think my 4 week old G37 will ever taste the lower grade fuel

I don’t understand why you guys are posting on this topic. It’s been covered hundreds of times and to the OP, who is new, is available by doing a search. This is one of those recurring topics, like auto versus manual, how old everyone is, what we do for a living, what color is best, tire size, etc., that popup regularly and are a bit exasperating.

Sadly, no matter how many times we say "search" this will always be an issue. We can complain all we want about it, nothing will change.

As for the fuel type question, I will never use anything other than 91 or 93 octane in my G. I used to have a car that was supposed to run premium and used the lowest octane and what a mistake! I learned my lesson. Use what the manufacturer says to use, simple as that. If you can't afford it, sell the G and get a Honda.

Even sadder is the notion of "Who cares; it's a lease car." I guess integrity, accountbility and responsibility are lost on most people these days.

Man, am I getting old!

I guess it is lost on people that the worse the condition of the returned car, the more of a hit that Nissan takes, which in turn is reflected in the price of a new car.

91 is the minimum requirement for the VQ37VHR. In my area its all 93.

Yet another thread that would come up in a search for "which octane to use in the G37"
