hey bb, would you suggest stage 1 or 2 exedy single plate? after the oem one goes out of course.

It depends entirely on what you are trying to accomplish. If its a daily driver I'd personally never get anything more than a stage 1 single plate for the sake of practicality and everyday drivability but theres lots of folks who wouldn't care about that.

well this is my first manual transmission, i dont care about comfort really (within reason, if single plate is around stock comfortability)... ive had it since aug 07, im not tracking it daily, maybe once in a while.

You will be fine with a stage 1 exedy or OS Giken.
